Lena's race?

I was putting information into my new site, when I came across this:

Which race does Lena (and her sister Amu ) belong to?

This might be an interesting article to listen to different fan-opinions (and it might be good info for fanfic writers )

As far as we know, after Valis 3, people of Darkworld and Dreamland united and lived together, and were ruled by the new young princess Valna . So Lena and her sister might be dreamlanders, but there is an equivalent chance that both originally might be from the Dark World, just like Cham !!

IMO, I think they're deamlanders, but I have no evidence

Well, I always puts Rena and Amu are from Vecanti in my fics, but I don't specific the race, whatever, Kenji and others ones are called as "humans".

In some cases, Rena is called as a "valkyrie" in my fics.

SO would that make Vecantian (im just making up race names) So would and be humans....well yeah and yet a Dreamlander......im confused

humans are dreamers.. so any people of dreamland could be humans.. don't you think?

From what I understand, Vencanti is basically another name for the Dark World. (I know the Dark/Yin/Negative power in Valis-lore is known as "Vencanta", so I would make sense). is a Vencantian, and her tribe/sub-race is Oni (or Ogre).

and I believe are Dreamlanders (or Vanitians? I know the main palace of Dreamland is known as "Vanity", but could Vanity also be another name for Dreamland too?). However, I doubt they are from the Human World/Reality. Then again, I don't think they ever really mentioned their origins in the game or the instruction book. I find it rather sad, because I'm certain that if Telenet had made a sequel (prequel?) to Valis IV, perhaps we could have learned more of Lena's (and Ahm's/Amu's) orgins.

I think.. everyone can do a better job than telenet japan

this people were the usual group that only made a platform game with no content at all

with posterior games/secuels they're forced to make some kind of story background..

I'm sorry to say that the full content of VALIS is pretty shallow..
fanfics and similar stuff make more rich the story concept

is just like streetfighter 2 world warrior.. a complete storyless game..

I like valis somehow (thanks to shadowblade) but the true is that all of the TELENET effort to make some story for VALIS was pretty lame..

I believe it's clear in the game (somehow) that Vanity is the castle

from my point of view, they hafta be Dreamlanders...

I think it's safe to say Lena, Amu, Yuko and Valna are Dream Worlders while Cham, Adrian (unofficially ), Rogles, Zalude, Magus, Glames, Asfal and Gallagher* (*from SV4 for the snes) would be Dark Worlders or Vecantian.

There's nothing wrong with the Valis canon, what's wrong is the translations done for the US releases that has caused the confusion.

There is no such confusion in the original japanese text.

Your Valis work is a fan project it is in no way canon, please don't call it Valis canon, this spreads misinformation that makes it even MORE difficult to find the real canon within the Valis universe.

One topic: Didn't the translations I provided awhile back from the Valis 4 manual specifically state Lena's origins? I was pretty sure it did but I could be wrong
