I don't want to disappoint you Adrian
Me as one of the audience of your animation, this is what I watched in 3rd episode:

- Lena and Cham are chatting all the time while we hear sounds of sword clashes in the background
- In the end, there is only 1 slash we see
- the monster dies

I think you need some more action scenes and more fighting frames to have a good episode

Don't forget the return trip to Shecoria (aka Fall of Shecoria) and the Lost Caverns, there's a battle going on there when our heros arrive. Second the story is just starting to pick up, yes I know there's alot of dialogue but I still need to establish some kind of storyline...beside Lena doesn't know who Adrian is. Third---I'm not an professianal animator I doing the best I can with what I have. I'm trying to do the best I can on hurrying this project along and get it finnished as quick as I can, it's not easy doing this all by myself. Just don't forget Dreamland is just the opening act the, real stuff is on Vecanti, Sutherland and Perfect World---after the return to Castle Vainty Ruins. I'm trying to base this story on if it was the game's story. That's the reason why Lena and Cham is with Adrian and not how I originally had it.
What I have planed for upcomming episodes are.
1: Lena betrays Adrian and Cham (lock's them in a cell in the caverns then quickly runs back to Shecoria), The fall of Shecoria, death of Emily and Zalude finally shows herself and confronts Adrian then get's away with the Valis Sword.
2: After Shecoria and the return trip back to Castle Vanity Lena and Valna go at it (remember in the game idea I had Valna as the dominator for Castle Vanity on Lena's path so to speak). Reason is Lena is still linked to the Valis Sword + Zalude's malice corrupting the Valis Sword + the Vecanta growing in Lena is what sparks the fight between the two.
3: Adrian returns to Vecanti, confronts Reiko who then blast Adrian with Death Flash thus Adrian assorbing it and lossing his left eye.

Again I'm doing the best I can and aplogize if the Tower Grey battle was less the desirable sad but you guys are ones who told me not give Adrian so much screen time and right now the story doesn't call for either Lena or Cham to be combatants just yet. But anyway I'm doing all I can with what I have.

I know animating is not easy and consumes all the time you have noes

I think the plot for the animation is good enough chu you don't really have to spoil things huh .... lol just kidding!

Lord Adrian wrote:

I can't remember I said something like that scratch because I DO think that focusing on the main character in any animation is the most important. I believe few things you should notice to have the animation better alien :

1. More action, less talk (It's difficult, it takes time, but the final result is worth watching Wink)
2. Focus less on side characters, focus more on main character
3. Original drawing, don't use ready samples, your audience always prefer to see something original and new, even if your artwork skills is not the best, you have to draw. Watching re-colored samples, is not fun!
4. Do NOT let the audience know what each character is thinking, it makes the episodes more exciting and thrilling. Exposing the characters thoughts ruins the audience suspense)
5. Avoid old games sound effects.
6. The twist in the plot like this is excellent, keep it the same Smile
7. For better results, use animating programs, like Adobe Flash. Try to learn, it's easy. There are thousands of basic tutorials on deviantArt.com

Dear Adrian, YOU.ARE.GOOD.
Try to keep learning new things.

Try to watch this simple stick animation called "Castle". The animator used movies sound effects. Put chatting to minimum, added more action frames. Although it's not that detailed Flash animation, almost everything the animator used is simple, but I watched this animation so many times that I can't remember how many times I watched it! LOL

You didn't but I have others descuse it with me (I won't point out who, they know who they are). Trust me E.R. I'm not upset at you (Nor have I ever been) or anyone (maybe a little annoyed at the others huh but you can't please them all) Chu . I've tried to draw characters by hand again, I do alright but still have problems with arms, hands, legs and feet. But anyway about more action---I still have The Fall of Shecoria comming up.
As for plot goes----I think I've establish enough of Adrian's background (maybe a little more when Zalude and Adrian confront each other for the first time at Shecoira but it won't be long) to continue without adding anymore...at least until the end.
I think all in all I got things where I like them now, I think once this is complete I think the story should be good enough to do a game out of---I only wish that I could do it myself but I lack the education to program a game.

I'm not going to guess at who said that, but let me clarify something in case it's me Laughing

Completely eclipsing secondary characters' roles (eg, Lena, Yuko) is NOT the same as giving another character screen time. I don't mind Adrian, although at times I haven't liked events involving him. I think it's natural to show a battle that can make the story less linear.

I'm not suggesting the episode was useless, just comparing it to the previous version Wink

Nope, definitely not. That's why you have to be smart about how you take and use (or decide not to use) suggestions. Smile

Don't worry about Lena, she'll get her time in the spotlight (mostly because her story is interlocked with Adrian's somewhat) but Yuko...She'll make a full apperance when our heros return to Castle Vanity (However in my first video I have a shadowed character sitting on a piller in the background. Here's a hint when Valna is leaning out the window look in the background) but won't be back until Sutherland and Perfect World. Unfortunately Yuko has to be eclipse due to the story. Even in the my game idea during the game she really doesn't come into play until the very end and then only as a bonus character you play as on higher difficulty setting after you unlock her (sigh Sunsoft really needs to get a hold of this or at least have a look at it---oh well). I got nothing aginst Yuko but the lack of her in the storyline until the end helps set up for a sequel when she learns the horrible truth behind her " Goddesshood". IDK IMHO I think it'll work out with Yuko being benched, her time is over, Lena's going through some hard times but in the end becomes a greater hero, Dreamworld seeing better days and Adrian's rise to power and begins a new age for Vecanti. It will work itself out in the end I hope.
But anyway I'm not really angry at anyone so don't everyone think I've gone bitter, it's just it get's a little discouraging that I spend alot of time on these videos and people disliking them for minor things. Frankly I like this Tower Grey Guardian battle and didn't see anything really wrong it other then it being shorter. Just remember folks the story is just now picking up so the battle scenes won't show up until the next episode and placing un-nessary battles in a story isn't really good for story telling I think. The reason for the Tower Grey Guardian battle was because Lena activated it...purposely.
Plus the reason I'm not showing off to many battle yet because:
1: The war with Gallagher is over anyone left are either scattered or dead (but mostly dead).
2: Although Rogles is back, he's just buying his time for now. However when our Heros return to Vanity they'll find it has been attacked.
3: Uma has just entered the picture and even in the game she attacks Shecoria AFTER Adrian leaves for the Desert Ruins (in the game when you take Adrian's path you fight through Shecoria attacking Uma's soldiers---but you fight Emily as Shecoia's Dominator, you fight Uma on the last stage of Vecanti).
So really---things are going according plain.

No need to blame anyone for an opinion, in any case, we can never satisfy everyone even if made the best thing in the world! LOL

Absolutely, showing unnecessary battles is completely wrong! chu
While I was watching 3rd episode, I was waiting excitingly for the battle between Adrian and the Grey Guardian. But, I was disappointed because the battle didn't include any fighting details sad

I referred to an animation called "Castle", but I forgot to provide the link heh-heh
This is the first episode:
http://www.stickpage.com/castle2play.shtml

And this is the list of all episodes:
http://www.stickpage.com/castle2.shtml

The animator had a website called "deletionquality.net", they included all Castle episodes there, forums, Flash tutorials and how they made the animation, how they drew the backgrounds, etc. Everything the animator used was simple, really! For some reason, seems like the website deletionquality.net no longer exist scratch

Yes, but you're essentially giving Yuko the same role she had in Valis IV, which is fine. I was just mentioning her as an example.

I understand happy and on to another mystery...what fighting detale did I do in my last Tower Grey battle then was different then the one I did scratch ? As far as I know they both ended the same only differance is that I didn't show Adrian getting frozen or showing off the Artic Blast attack from the guardian.

Fighting details in frames, like attacking, kicking, dodging attack, blocking, evading attack, bleeding, etc. Try to draw these action frames

If you try to watch the battle in the 2nd version, you can notice that there is only 1 thing:
- Adrian jump and attack the grey guardian, the grey monster explode and die. Only 3 action frames

In the older version battle, at least there are some more frames where we see the monster attacks, Adrian receive damage, etc. It was more exciting

Update:
Ok I'm nearing the end of making all the frames I need for the next episode. I going to end it with Adrian's Black Hole attack and Uma making a hasty retreat then in the next episode, Zalude dubble crosses the Shecoria Nuns and uses the Valis Sword to kill Emily which corrupts the Valis Sword and the malice transfers over to Lena and adds to her Vecanta which causes her to have unstable mood swings---simular to Leethus corrupting Adrian. Even though Lena's not holding the Valis Sword she is still spiritally linked to it and Zalude's malice seeps into the sword which then transfer over to Lena and when Lena get's a hold of the Valis Sword again this causes her to become corrupt and causes Lena to become unstable.

Sorry it's taking so long per episode but I like this pacing, it's keeping things from overwhelming me Cool .

Thanks happy ---actually I had to cut a scene but I might put in the next episode as Adrian sweeping up left overs, like any instant death spell Astral Plain (aka Black Hole) is purely random---powerful but random. Anyway the cut scene was just Adrian showing off another attack the Wave Sythe. He was using it to destroy a roll of Tower Grey statues.

Hello everyone well here's part 6.
Edit: Ok I got WMM to work again sort of. I have to use AVI files now which is no fun cause it slows my computer down but at least it works now.

I like that this experimental episode portrays Cham as an intelligent/competent character throughout, and not just a throwaway who exists only to advance the story. Especially towards the end Cool

Thanks happy . I got the kinks worked out on my Windows Movie Maker so I can work with it again. I have to save my frames as AVI files now. It's slower but it works out better I think. Anyway I like this episode Cool .
