PostSubject: "My" Valis V in 16-bit style   Sun 22 Aug 2010, 4:17 pm

Well, this is an animated GIF based in my fic what I made some years ago for the Valis V project, this guy nickname CHAMAT made this opening (incomplete, unfortunally) and he send it to me some days ago, I can say this is AWESOME, a perfect 16-bit style remember to a true PC-Engine game (except for there's no voices, only text Razz ) I know, that Kenji looks a bit "ugly", that's because Chamat never can sees a illustration of the casual Kenji and he based on a artwork with "spikehead" Suspect so ugly...

Spoiler:

Be careful, it's long, I put the URL because never see it animated Suspect

Credits to Chamat, pixel work and animation and Valkyrie Project and/or me, Shadow Blade for the story.

PLEASE DON'T take it for any "evil" (neither "good") purpose, if you want to show in another site please tell me. Thanks. happy eyes

Wow, thanks for reminding me what I'm doing on these forums Shocked That really looked like genuine SNES or Genesis stuff.

If only someone could make an actual game of Valis like that, like the famous Metroid 2 fan-remake... Too bad copyright law is in the way now No

I wish Sunsoft would license a serious 16 or 32-bit Valis sequel; but that will never happen, except maybe on a handheld system... and even those systems are too powerful now...

I'd like to see Valis V done like Castlevania Dracula X Chronicals (graphics and gameplay), Sunsoft should publish and let another (Konami) game company work on it. Also I think Valis would do better on the handheld devices like the PSP or Nintendo DS or DSi.

Cool cartoon Cool .

I think that was pretty cool. Heck, if that was a real game, I would play it. I'd wish to see more cinematics.

Anyway, the person did a good job.

I totally agree afro . Sometimes fans can come up with better ideas then the game company. Take the unofficial Portal: Prelude for an exsample.
It maybe an unofficial mod for Portal but it give an interesting look of what it could have been.

Sadly that's the truth Razz . It sad really cause all that Game Companies care about is getting a game on the shelves and sometimes they come up with some of the lamest games ever. Sure it has great graphics but games now a days are either a Call of Duty, God of War, Sports, Racing or Grand Theft Auto Clones and only last for a few hours. If Game Companies would listen to their fans more---We would have much better game now a days. happy

game companies are that, companies. they just interested in making money at expense of "fans" or gamers. they really don't care about a damn about fans or whatever..

I've come across alot about it. they can put a mantle about how they care a lot about the fans and that.

but they are just for the money that fans can spend. that the sad true.

sunsoft never gonna contact a fan group or fan base proyect to make for them a really good game based on this IP.

they just gonna try to get all the cash they could grap in this soon to be released games in the WII or another online system. that's why I give a damn about they and the fan stuff..

I prefer the indy circuit... Very Happy

I forget where on this board, but a few said stuff along these lines.

Games just feel soul less now. Yeah, the graphics are good, but the magic, the spark is missing. If I do play something nowadays, it's just to get achievements or because it's eye-candy.

I kinda blame GTA3 and Halo for getting all of these casual gamers into the fray. Them buying all these lame, eye-candy party/sandbox/FPS/God of War rips are what's really diluting the quality of games.
