Which do you all prefer? I liked the Turbo version more despite its horrible voice acting(Glames' voice was awesomely campy but Yuko and to a lesser extent Cham and Valne, had like 0 emotion) and translations of the names, I found it to be better because the gameplay felt smoother imo plus there were more levels and I liked Rogles and the fact that you had to challenge him again was cool, except for his english voice that was no where near as manly as the japanese Rogles voice. tongue

Message from South of the Border. Smile

I prefer the Genesis version- The script is far cleaner, and the levels and level sections that were removed were either nothing to write home about or outright obnoxious (sutherland-1). I also generally prefer the Valis universe as one where the dead stay dead.

But it introduced multiple characters to the series and improved from II. D:

I believe hes referring to the resurrection of Rogles in Valis III for the PC Engine.

I can't no Sega Genesis to play Valis III on heh-heh ...Even if I did I still wouldn't play it---Valis III really isn't my favorite Valis game, I get board with it after the Sutherland stages tired .

That, and Im currently more than a few thousand miles away from my normal computer.

The setting conveyed in most of the Valis games is a rather grim one to start with, and it also rather undermines the dramatic impact of emphasised death scenes if characters can be conjured back to the realm of the living by the whims of producers.

Between Genesis and Turbografx CD, I'd go with Genesis just to get a way from the drama class dropouts in the Turbografx version. But if I had my 'druthers I'd go with the PC Engine version, even if I can't understand what they're saying.

Kind of a tough choice. I found the Genesis version was much easier (although the Ice Realm stage is a pain in the potootie). The Turbo vesion had more areas though. However, I hated the Sutherland level for that, though (although it is certainly a plus for Valna fans since her ice spell is really effective in the early half of the stage since you need to freeze foes in order to cross the large pits). I thought the voice acting was laughable, though (especially the guy who did Zalude...I mean, it sounded like the guy was pulled off the street or something. Then again, I've heard amateur dramatics who at least TRIED to act in comparison to THIS guy). However, I did think the extra cinematics made it better than the Genesis.

I didn't find Sutherland that bad. The thing I hated the most in Valis III was the final Glames boss fight. Even with the fire spell I either die or win with just a little health left.
