Dragoon X Omega II (Final Fantasy ROM Hack)

A full scale hack of Final Fantasy, nothing remains but the core programming routines.
It features all new graphics, music, levels, enemies, text, statistics and more. Think
of it as a “Total Conversion” for the NES.

















Fixes all known bugs that have been discovered by myself and those that have been reported to me. Also touches up some small things that annoyed me, and is far more polished than the original 1.0 release from 2006.

Patch (IPS)

Well it would seem that you manage to hack final fantasy battle scale. I hope it's worth playing....so many games so little time.

This looks really cool! I'm gonna have to try it out.

Some of those pics remind me of the Final Fantasy VII Nes port.

That FFVII "port" ripped all its graphics from the three NES Final Fantasies: We made all the graphics ourselves for DXOII.

Yeah, interesting hack. I see all this stuff at romhacking.net. Most of these full hacks are always too hard and not fun though. I haven't played this one. The best complete hack I have seen is one of Castlevania, Chorus of Mystery.

DXOII was pretty hard in earlier versions, but that was mainly because I'd never done an RPG statstical system from the ground up before (Nothing is like it was in the original game, from the monsters to the weapon stats).

Final is far different, however: I certainly think it's easier than Final Fantasy itself was, but not so easy it's not any fun. I put a lot of effort into getting the balance as good as I could, and I don't think it turned out too badly.

Of course, the only way to really tell is to play it.

Also, yeah, Chorus of Mysteries is an awesome hack.
