| You can get it as a Japanese import for the PS2.
I'm definitely looking forward to when Mushihimesama Futari is also ported to console... and when they finally do Ketsui

I reccomend either getting a modchipped PS2 or a really really really fast computer that can emulate it. The modchipped PS2 will probably be cheaper.

| Actually, is this game made by Psikyo? They've made some sick shooters (Gunbird...and a Dragon one, I forget the exact name), but, they're nothing like this.
And DoDonPachi looks intense. I want to play that, too!

| Nope, the game is made by Cave. I think they have one or two people from Psikyo tho, and they also made a game that's almost exactly like a Psikyo game. | |

| I love games like these. If you have good controller/joystick, they're a load of fun. If you don't, it ruins everything, it's hard not to die. These games with a lot of bullets are called "manic shooters", so they say. But my favorite games of these kind are the R-Type series, followed by Gradius. | |

| Try beating Zero Wing on one life without using save slots on an emulator. Oh, did I mention to try it on hard? Good luck with that. XD BTW, I've done it. Once. I was so sure I was gonna die at some points, but fortunately I know how to keep a shield going. The only other tricky things are the navigation in the stage 1-2 and in one of the later levels. Very easy to die if you don't know when to speed up, slow down, run ahead and stay behind. | |

| that looks so sick lol, there are more plays on youtube. someone even uploaded the end boss which is more crazier then that. I noticed the hitbox on your ship is INSANELY small tho! Which explains why some of the bullets seem like they pass through the ship. Anywho even with a really small hitbox this game still looks impossible. | |

| Judging just from that video, I'd have the piss scared out of me trying to beat a boss like that during the first few tries. Then would most likely o_O while trying to deduce ways to precisely map out each maneuver to every shot and a half... Glad to see hellish difficulty isn't lost in the modern age. *Contemplates running Nightmare mode in DOOM...* | |

| I guess God Mode or cheats don't work in Nightmare difficulty... I guess for this game, it was not about passing a stage, only to have fun... BTW, have someone tried Act Raiser 2 in Hard? that was pretty hard too... | |

| It was probably one of the console versions of Doom, I don't remember. I doubt I ever played the original DOS version. The only one of those DOS fps games I played a fair amount was one called Blood because I was into goth stuff back then.
And yeah, Actraiser 2 was so hard it was broken, cool looking game but broken, also by the horrible slowdown.

That would be an affirmative. Hm... another hard game I've played is Battletoads for the NES. Even with warps there are some stages you're gonna crash and burn on. Beware of the evil Swirl!

yes.. the most difficult was beating the bosses... - betaflex1 wrote:

Yes it's true... I never finished this game... probably nowadays, I'll be able to finish it, given I'm more skilled... but the problem is to get used to the control... sensibility of games have changed a lot... and playing retro games, is even more frustrating now...

| You could have used the game genie for a lot of those hard games. That's what I did a lot on snes, although the snes games weren't nearly as hard as the nes ones overall. Really, for the most part I didn't even bother with nes. By the time I got one, the snes was already the big deal and those hard nes games I had left seemed impossible. Deadly Towers, what a weird game that was, I never forgot the sound to that, it was hypnotic together with the pointless gameplay. One nes game I did like a lot was a zapper game called Freedom Force. Not even the later consoles had anything as cool as that. And it was hard, but it wasn't meant to be beaten by mere mortals, I don't think. I think I got to the last level once. But if you want hard nes games, I think Bayou Billy, another of the games I had, was even tougher than Battletoads. And Final Fantasy, I actually traded that cartrige with some other kid, not for another game, for some candies. He didn't understand how to play it at all. | |
