| Do you remember that I talked about a Valis animation so many times by my creation long time ago? This is it. I had worked on this project about 2 years ago. I continued working for about a year, then I abandoned this project, because I wasn't skilled enough in manga artworks, neither I was skilled enough using Flash to make good use of animating. orginally, it is about a 15 minutes animation. But, I took out the unnecessary scenes, re-arrange the scenes, and then published it. So, it became about 7 minutes. This is just an abandoned animation now, but.. not an abandoned project. I've abandoned this animation because I will start over again working on this project. For now, you may enjoy the abandoned animation, I hope it's not so bad (as for the font in the animation, I guess youtube converted the video and made it really unclear. I hope it's still readable): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsC_HRi261E | |

| It's a shame that there isn't more animation in some of the scenes, but the overall animation definitely has the same feel as the cinematics from the actual games. And, as I commented on the YouTube page, I love the animation of Yuko diving for the sword. Awesome reference to Valis III. | |

| thanx everyone with your encouragement to me, I'll be more excited to work on the project and produce something greater than this animation - kevinski wrote:

I needed to hear it from somone, so I learn more from my mistakes That's true. There isn't many animations in many scenes of my animation; that's because of two reasons: 1. I wasn't really that good in animating neither good with manga artworks at that time, 2 years ago 2. animating vs. good manga-graphicslet me clarify the 2nd reason: anyone can make so many animation in short time, but that would be stick-drawing animation. something like this animation (2 minutes long of animation, with stick-graphics), wouldn't take more than few days of working. Drawing manga-style graphics, consumes alot of time. A single pic of manga may take at least 15 minutes (that's if it was a simple pic, and I was fast in drawing). Making animation means I have to draw several different manga pics. Which means, it's really a very very time consuming issue. Let me give you an example: in my animation, have you seen the scene when Rogles attacks with the green fireball? It's animated, right? How long is that fireball animation? It's only about 1 or 2 seconds, but, do you know for how long did I stayed working on that couple of seconds? I stayed working day and night, for more than 1 week! Anyway, since I have learnt alot from my mistakes, and got experience, the new animation will be more animated with even better manga graphics

| Animation doesn't necessarily require manipulating each body part. I've seen plenty of anime/manga animations that simply move stills in ways that simply make them feel more dynamic.
There were certain parts of your animation that were done really, really well, though. Again, the part where Yuko dives for the sword was very well-done, and the running animation(s?) that showed only the legs was awesome.

that's also true. but still, even animating only alittle still requires alot of time, trust me in this. After all, I'm only a one single individual person, working by myself, doing the job of so many people by myself (I'm the manga artist, I'm the backgrounds artist, I'm the story writer, I'm the animator, I'm the one collecting the sounds & musics from different resources, I'm the one synchronizing the sounds & musics with the animation, I'm the one testing every scene, etc.) anyway, the dive scene of Yuko is nothing compared to what would be in the new animation everything will be more animated and better well-drawn - Silent_Protagonist wrote:

best....thing.....I've.....seen.....today.....EVER! thanx alot I really need to hear this and the fight scene, it has to be the best you know, even though I stay hours, days, and months working hard on such Valis-related projects, but nothing encourages me continuing working forward other than you, my friends <---mixture smiley for happy tears

Agreed! I loved these two scenes in particular as well. The beginning of Valis III where she dives off the building to get the sword is one of my favorite scenes in the games. While overall, I am not really a fan of Flash Animation, I gotta say it was certainly well done!!! I really look forward to wathcing another installment.

| The designs are nothing like any I've seen before. Very original! Some elbow grease, motivation, and helping hands could make it an awesome fan masterpiece! | |

currently I'm practicing to draw more hands, guys (since I draw girls most of the time ) and monsters. IMO, the animation is really junk; the backgrounds are garbage, many of the hands are wrong, the facial expressions are not so expressive, many poses are wrong, very little "animation" included, girl's face sometimes look like guys, and sometimes guys look like girls, environment effects (like people walking, buildings, etc.) almost don't exist, many scenes focus on the face (very few that show the whole body), and more.. I'm really bad .. I need to do more practice.. but I won't give up
