Father's name?

Well, anyone knows whats the name of Rogles and Megas' father? In Valis 2 this father is mentionated but I don't remember if his name is pronunciated, thanks for any info, if any image exists abiut this guy much better.

If my memory serves, I believe his name is King Kaiser (not really sure of the spelling), which was mentioned by Megas at the end of Valis 2, at least in the Turbo Duo version. I don't know if that is his name (or if he existed) in the Japanese PC Engine CD version, though.

iannafei is right. Their father's name is mentioned twice as "King Kaiser" (I'm also not sure of the spelling )

there are some characters in Valis that their names mentioned only once.

well, Rogles actually had 8 lieutenants! 2 more lieutenants of appear in Valis 2, their names are: one is called "Zaluga" (the first boss in Valis 2, that giant red monster), and the 2nd is "Gallen" (not sure of the spelling, he's the green tiger boss). those 2 are lieutenants along with the other 6

I was just playing Valis II on my Turbo Duo a couple of days ago and King Kaier is the name of Rogles and Magas' father well at least in the US version. But when you fight Zaluga and Gallen in the game they proclame to be one of the Rogles' 12 generals.......12? evilReiko has stated 8 of them so is there another 4 or was it just a bad translation?

Did you just say... 12 ?! that's so possible. Can you please tell me in which part they mention this if you can remember?

King Kaiser? Allright! I have the curiosity since I see my Valis Visual Collection (I don't have Valis 2 for TurboGrafx) so, the scenes are in japanese and I only read about the Rogles and Megas' father, but never read his name, thanks, you're great guys.

Ok here's the official script from the first battle with Zaruga on Turbo version of Valis II:

Zaruga " I am the Red Salamander Zaruga one of Roglas' 12 generals, Come warrior Valri let us engadge in commat "

........and then Yuko asks him why he he says they need the sword and so on and you gill him and when you fight Gallen he states hes the last of the 12 generals.

Well this may not seem relevant, but in my up-coming Fan Fic that evilReiko has so graciously decided to host on his webside, I wrote the spme of the episodes which have Rogles' father in it with no idea as to his name... so immediatly I decided to give him one, naming him Mortanius (Pronounced Mor-at-nius)

Either either you prefer the official name of Rogles' father or you prefer the name I gave him, I'm just telling you what went on in my mind at the time.

for me, wether Mortanius or Kaiser, both are ok. just choose whatever you think is best for your fanfic

I think Mortanius sounds a lot cooler than Kaiser (although I wish I knew Japanese/had the Japanese PCE version of Valis 2 to see if the name was mentioned in that version so I could know for sure). However, I do agree with evilReiko that it should be up to you as far as which name to use (whatever is more suitable for the fic).

Also, doesn't the name King Kaiser seem a little redundant? Kaiser is the German word for Emperor, so he's King Emperor? I'm guessing that his Japanese name translates to something along the lines of "King of Kings" of course, translators just have to fuck it up.

Quite Frankly I couldn't give 2 ****s what people think. It's MY Fanfiction, thus it's MY desicion.

And seeing as you just pointed out a previously unseen-but-bloody obvious reason why I should change the name You've given me more insentive to keep the name Mortanius and not switch it back.

One more thing on my mind, if your conciderign yourself one of those flaming fan boys, I'd show you something that I'm sure wouldn't be allowed pre the 9pm Watershed.

Glacier36 has the full-right to do whatever he wants about his fanfiction. Wether it's Kaiser or Mortanius, I think both are great, in the end, final decision goes to Glacier36

Dear God NO! The two things I hate the most in this world are emos and fanboys/girls. I did get flamed quite a bit when I posted a Mega Man Zero fan fiction. The bastards got angry because I killed off Cerveau. Ever since I made sure to warn everyone I knew that was making a fan fiction that changed a name or detail.

I'm assuming you're talking about a middle finger. I've been flipped off more times (in real life and on forums) than I can count, so that wouldn't really do anything.

About that whole Mortanius/Kaiser thing, you could just weasel out of it and say it's his last name. That's what I would do.

It's not like some new game is going to prove you wrong.

Well, again "Kaiser" is the name given in the English Turbo Duo version of Valis 2. I don't have the Japanese PC Engine version of Valis 2, so I can't really say if it is indeed his name (or if he is even mentioned, because sometimes Japanese scripts could be A LOT different from their other language counterparts). Besides, there does not seen to be much info-wise on the web as far him concerned, although this page has some good info on Valis (even though it's in Japanese...you might need a web page translator to read it).

Anyway, I don't know if too many people might care whether Kaiser or Mortanius since I don't think there is too many Valis "purists" out there, since it isn't as popular of a game as say...Mega Man X or Final Fantasy VII. I'm sure many of us here wouldn't mind if Kaiser or Mortanius is used. (Then again, I'm probably just speaking for myself.)

If worse comes to worse, the author could always put a "disclaimer" that the names might not be cannon because of the author's discretion/lack of information, or something to that effect.

Otherwise...there's not really a need to fight amongst ourselves, okay?
