| This comes from a friend of mine who has very good knowledge of japanese I asked him to translate some things so I had more official names for characters and such for my own work. - Quote :
- Most of the time, the names you have work with what's written. It's always a little tough to romanize a name meant to sound western-ish, since sometimes Japanese skip a sound when it's easier to pronounce for them...
top : king Gramses / Glamses (pronounced ssess) left : Zalyude / Zalude bottom : Rogres (pronounced like Rogue-ress, yes) right : Ashura Text speaks about unlocked bonus when you've cleared the game once.
Amu / Am (Rena's sister, 14 year old...) and Asfar (father of Galgear/Gallagher) (while r and l are indeed interchangeable, there are some ways to differentiate them in foreign words from time to time, like in this case, Asfal would actually likely be written differently - アスファル ; an r at the end of a word with English pronounciation will usually be written as アスファー alright) Text is story narration (resistance, its leader Cham, someone wanting to be allowed to go save some guy...)
left : Galgear would be closer to what's actually written but Gallagher would be fine and fitting enough too right : Medius, pronounced may-dias (as in buenos dias) Medusa is written differently. (beautiful woman, third in a team with Lezard / Ruzard and Dahlgen) Text is more story info, about Heaven and the world of men)
Dahlgen and Lezard work - I'd have said Ruzard for the second though, but Lezard works. I have no idea what it would refer to so I can't tell. (text is the following of the previous page apparently) The only one I disagree with really is Rogres I just like Rogles better myself.

Rogles can be a better translation for English, cause in Japanese the romaji ラ(RA)リ(RI)ル(RU)レ(RE)ロ(RO)actually pronouce as LA,LI,LU,LE,LO Sometimes if you were to translate those names to English, you cannot just direct translate it if you want to sound better in English, for example; ロ グ レ ス RO GU RE SU If you really take them all and make it English, it will be really weird - Roguresu, but afterall its a name, and it's not even a common name so you can name it as you like

| I've asked my friend to translate the Valis 4 PCE Manual. Here's what he's got so far. - Quote :
Prologue In a distant past... When the world was still called "Gaia", many races lived in peace. The demon race was ruling over the country of the east. Their king, Asfar, passed down the title to his son Gallagher, along with the Titan's ring that is said to hold infinite energy. Gallagher, obtaining such a huge power, broke the rules of God and invaded the other countries. His father Asfar, who opposed the invasion, was banished to the valley of light. God could not forgive this behavior, locked Gallagher and the demon race in a pillar of crystal and sent them to the bottom of the ocean.
Story Year 199X The giant crystal pillar Graad stands turned at the Heavens, where the surface of the Pacific Ocean is split in two. Gallagher and the demon race have come back from Graad where they were for thousands of years. The demon race conquered the world, and the queen Valna of the dream world has been subdued as well. The world belongs to the demon race. Now that the warriors of Valis have left Heavens, there is no one left to stop the demon race...
One day, Cham, leader of the resistance, receives information about the time and place of Valna's execution. "Please let me save her." Rena, the strongest soldier of the resistance, requested to go save Valna. But Cham refused, as it was too dangerous. "Please let me go ! I am a soldier." Rena kept insisting. And then, "Cham, please let Rena go..." this was the voice of [?? I don't know what this one is] in Heavens.
The valley of light "Don't overdo it." With Cham's permission, Rena took her sister Amu with her and went for Vanity. more sunday probally.

| Here's more of the Valis 4 manual translation - Quote :
- 06.jpg
The valley of light "Don't overdo it." With Cham's permission, Rena took her sister Amu with her and went for the castle of Vanity. Rena and Amu rushed toward Valna, hanging on a cross, when Gallagher, king of the demon race, appeared in front of them. He slashed at them, but before he could finish them off, the great god Asfar appeared and saved them, disappearing with them. (yeah, it calls Asfar "great god"...) "To defeat Gallagher, you need the sword of Valis..." Asfar revealed that the sword of Valis resides in Heavens, and only those who are of the nature of the knights of Valis can go there. "and the one who is like them is you, Rena..."
08.jpg Heavens and the world of men Not listening to Amu who opposed it, Rena turned at the Heavens, to meet Yuuko, to obtain the sword of Valis. But Yuuko couldn't give out the sword. The sword of Valis brings a painful destiny to whoever seizes it. Yuuko couldn't pass that weight onto Rena. Then, "If you can pass a trial, I will aknowledge you as a knight of Valis" Rena took the challenge. Facing many battles, Rena went through the test, and as promised, she received the sword of Valis from Yuuko. Rena, the new knight of Valis, went back to the world of men along with Amu and Asfar. "Can you see the crystal tower over there ?" This was Gallagher's true stronghold, the crystal tower Graad. "This is where the queen Valna is... !" Indeed, Valna was there, hanging on the cross at the top of the tower. In mid-air, Gallagher was holding a spear, and above him was the red moon, the holy ground of the demon race, shining with an ominous light. Gallagher turns his spear at Valna and throws it. Rena takes on the pain of all those Gallagher had killed, and turns at the red moon. The final battle between the knight of Valis Rena and Gallagher has begun.
