| Since there's already a thread about LP's I'll put mine here instead of starting a new thread based on the same thing. I'm going to try to do an LP of Wizards & Warriors. It's an old (Win 95 era) rpg. I'm going to try to do a start to finnish and hope my luck with this game working holds up. Here's the link---> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AK5-2zDONk | |

| I enjoyed the video, and the quality on your camcorder isn't bad. I appreciate that you didn't talk trash the entire time like a lot of LP'ers do, and that looks like an interesting game. - Lord Adrian wrote:

$300? The only recording program I know at $300 is Camtasia, and that does not even record games at all from what I've read, it's just generic screen capture software. You should try the built-in recording function of X-fire. It's absolutely free and works great for me. Tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BtXwfxdMNYWebsite: http://www.xfire.com/Make sure to record at 25fps to avoid audio desync problems. Also, if you experience slowdown, try configuring it to record the video to a second hard disk (not just a second partition!). I use an external hard drive, which cost me $80... which is certainly better than $300 for Camtasia! Good luck.

Good luck. Thanks I like my flip camcorder , I've had lot of fun since the day I bought. Only one down side---putting Flip videos on YouTube takes forever. About Wizards & Warriors: It's a good game, if you like The Elder Scrolls games, this game is no different. But the people at Activision didn't do a good job at testing it before releasing it. There's bugs in the game and without getting the right patches can be unplayable--- plus getting it to play on modern computers is a nightmare. You almost need the right set up in order for it to work . I'll try not to talk to much durring the LP only saying what needs to be said but keeping mostly quiet to allow you to hear the wonderful music in the game (also because I can't play games and talk at the same time ). Thanks for the X Fire download I'll give that a try.

| I just got done watching part four... Unfortunately, I'm going to have to say that the webcam setup doesn't cut it. The dialogue toward the end of the video was unintelligible, and since the text was also tough to make out I didn't understand much at all.
I'm wondering what happened with X-fire. I think that would be your best bet now that your camcorder died. Did it not work for you?

Sorry about the LP my camcorder broke after the last episode (I don't know what the heck happend to it, after the Flip software updated the camera gave out...I'm trying to get a replacement camera---thank goodness for extended warranties). I couldn't get Xfire to work, either it dosen't record CD games or the game Wizards & Warriors is not compatible with the Xfire software. Again sorry about the LP . If I have to use my PS3's webcam again I'll try to find a different setting and see if I can get the picture to come in better.

| Well, you're right... I downloaded Wizards & Warriors to test with X-fire, and indeed, although you can force it to recognize the game, the in-game functionality is still missing, so you can't record video. I figured that because the game showed up in Windows' games folder, it should be detected by X-fire also, but turns out X-fire has its own detection system that only supports certain games :\ Fraps also doesn't detect this game; ironically, the best results I've gotten so far were actually with Camtasia, which I discouraged in the first place. I found that if you designate the recording area (in Camtasia) as exactly the resolution of the game (600 x 480 pixels in this case), instead of your system's resolution, the fullscreen records just fine. If you're interested, I uploaded a test video to show the quality of the recording: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSMfluJ618kNow regarding the actual game, it's extremely glitchy for me, but I have an ancient PC that almost corresponds to the system requirements for the game... I wonder if it would run better on it. | |

Yup W&W deffently has it's bugs but with the right patches, it can be playable. Here's a couple of sights that you can download patches for the game---IF you need it. http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/wizardswarriors/downloads.shtmlhttp://www.tk421.net/wizardry/files.shtml

- I'm about ready to do a "blind" Let's Play of Ys: Seven...just got to wait for my composit avi cables to come in, then I can hook up my psp to my pc and record it while I play it for the first time. I'm still waiting for my replacement camcorder to come in so I can go back to my Wizards & Warriors LP.
Cool, will watch, since I don't have a PSP ^^ Glad to hear the camcorder is coming back as well. My last attempt recording with Camtasia caused the menus bug out after a couple of minutes... So much for that . This game just refuses to be recorded!

| Sadly I canceled my Wizards & Warriors LP. Reasons are 2. 1: Someone else is doing the same LP and people stopped watching mine...Oh well . 2: Got tired of waiting 3 or 4 hours just to upload to YouTube. Also I'm past the point of no return I'm passed the toad village and just outside of Ishad'Nah. Maybe once I get better recording equipment I'll redo it or go on to something else. | |
