There's a thread about bad games that we hate... so how about some bad games that we like?
Valis for the Sega Megadrive / Genesis - this is how I got started on the Valis series, and it's probably how a lot of you got started on it too. Thinking back on it, the MD/Genesis version had pretty poor gameplay, but the story and artwork made it one of my favorite game series.
DBQuest - this was a pretty horrid computer RPG for MS-DOS. You had to delete and re-install the game whenever you wanted to start a new game, or else you'd get some weird bugs with the savegame. You had to play in a very specific sequence or your party would get slaughtered. Yet, this was one of my favorite games to play back in the day, because of the sheer number of party members you could have, and because of some of the bugs and exploits you could do to make your party invincible.
Aethra's Chronicles - this was a buggy DOS game in which you could only create 3 party members yourself, and you had to hire the other 3. However, it was very ambitious - it had a sophisticated tactical combat system, was extremely different from typical Dungeons & Dragons-inspired games, and had a nice difficulty curve that you had to explore around in order to figure out.
I could go on and on about this topic...

Interesting thread
hmm.. I think Valis is a bad game, as a game
Digimon 2 (PS1) - I love this game, there is only one little tiny bad thing that could have made this game WAY better: if 2-players fighting mode is as same as 1-player mode

I can't really think of a bad game that I like ---if a game's bad then I hate it .

Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero - I like this game, but can't deny that using the exact same controls from the fighting games does not work well for a platforming game. The graphics are pretty, the cut-scenes are horribly acted but amusing in a B-movie quality because of it, but the one thing that really pushes this over the top is that you have to press a button TO TURN AROUND. I think the guys over at Midway just got lazy with this one. And yet... it is still playable and fun. It's just kind of awkward and clunky.
Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks - The gameplay is spot on and a lot of fun. However, the many, many cut-scenes and story bits are just abysmal. I mean, really, really bad. MK's sort of gotten this reputation over the years as the fighting game that has a story, but you'd never know it from playing this turd. It's embarrassingly bad.
Hm... this is harder than I thought. Bad games that I still like... I don't think there's too many. I'll come back to this.

I gave this one some serious thought.
I choose this:
Power Moves for the SNES. It came out in the early 90's when companies were trying to cash in on Street Fighter's success. Fighter's History, Fatal Fury and World Heroes were better games but there was just something about it that grabbed me and never let go. Looking back, I'm thinking it was the soundtrack; I still think it's pretty damn good even to this day.

Mmmm... Well, I've played some bad games in my time.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Zeonic Front (PS2)- There's a time and a place for Rainbow Six-ish mechanics in a mecha game, but Gundam isn't one of them. I ended up playing this game all the way through, however, because I love how all of the Zeon mobile suits translated into the game, and some serious thought was put into making the concept work- plus, who could pass up the chance to smash a Gundam with a Zaku II, Bernie Wiseman-style?
Monster party (NES)- As Deceased Crab said: "One way or another, you're going to need pills to finish this game."

MSG: Zeonic Front----I love that game ! I hated the mission where you had to spy on White Base and get Intel on the three Mobile Suits and White Base itself without alerting Amuro and the gang. Makes you hate being on the receiving end of a Beam Rifle lol.
