| Since I know basically nothing about Valis, I'd really like it if I could find perhaps a fanfic "novelization" of the series, or atleast find all the info I need to know everything. I know pretty much nothing, I never got far at all in II, the only game I had, and it was an import. I have no way of getting all the games since I don't have an emulator and my mom is very wary of downloading from sites. I also do not have any system on which any Valis game plays on except the Sega Genesis. But I have no idea where to find them except for online on like Ebay and such. Does a TurboGrafx really run for up to $900? If there is not a fanfic novelization of the games that non of you know of (and I'm not talking about ones that stray from the plot, add characters and such.), then I think it would be a very good idea to make one. Although, I've seen the whole thing of II, and it made no sense. I want to read fics, but without a good knowledge of Valis, I can't. Well, technically I can, but you know what I mean. | |

| Well, I am working on a Valis I fanfic, but it's not the straight novelization you want. However, I can tell you that you are off the TurboGraphix price by about $800. Still, though, if you want an english version of Valis I, you could get Valis I for the Genesis for a lot less. Then there's Valis III for the Genesis and Syd of Valis, a Chibi Valis II with an inconsistent and incomplete translation. | |

| On ebay, I saw a TG16 for 900. I fone was $100, I'd have already bought one, be sitting here, playing every Valis and finally beating II...And Splatterhouse...But then again, if my G-ma had given the TG16 to me instead, I would not have spent that 100, but then agin, the CD port died....And ValisII was on it...So either way.... But is there anywhere I can get all the info I need to know as much about the games as you guys do? I smell dog crap...Seriously...You see, my family breeds english mastiffs, really big. ROse is over 2 and WAS house trained, but since her pups....She's untrained herself....Drives me crazy. Anyways, hope I can know alot about valus so i can read fics without not understanding | |

(preferably from II, I am so partial to Level 1's theme...Probably because I never made it far past that level...

If you downloaded the PC-Engine/Turbo Grafx versions of Valis I, II, III and IV (my favourite!!!) you can got the music in MP3 format if you downloaded in RomShared or OGG format if you download the games on DreamWorld webpage.

I know what you mean, but thanks for confirming it the problem with this, although my site is built in flash, I barely know alittle about Flash ActionScript (in other words, Flash programming). But I will try to learn how to do this and include several music by next update

Yeah, I'm not really the one to promote emulation, but you could get the english version of Valis II on the DreamWorld thread in the Valis Section (there should be a link on the thread to the place to download it). And if you don't have WinAmp to play OGG files, I would suggest using WinLAME to convert the files to MP3. You can get it here: http://winlame.sourceforge.net/Oh, and some of the OGG files are the voice clips used in the cutscenes. Just saying.

| Well, you think I could find the games for the Genesis on Ebay? And are the Genesis ones, how good are they compared to their other system counterparts? My Grandma's por, Genesis, none of the grandkids play it anymore, so it's covered with dust...As for the games that do not play on the Genesis, what are they? Those are the only ones I will download unless I can't get my hands on the Genesis games. Also, Do you guys know of any place I could safely download Splatterhouse? Safely meaning without the fear of viruses. Since 2 and 3 are for Genesis, I just need 1. Thta is, if I can get them. And then there are games I wouild like to know if any of you know if these are for the Genesis or if I have to download them: Monster Lair, Dragon Spirit, Dungeon Explorer, Bonk's Adventure, Keith Courage in Alpha Zones, Pac Land, and this one game I don't remember the name of...It was about some little dude who dug hles in a maze to trap enemies...All of these were ones I played back when I had the TurboGrafx16. Of course, there were other gmaes, but those were sports games, and I do not care for sports. Lemme see if I can remember the ones I had though...Takin it to the hoops, some football game, a golf game (I'm pretty sure it was a Jack Nicklaus one) and that's all I remember. Yeah, I happened to have a lot of well known (as far as TurboGrafx16/PC-E goes...) games. And if I downlaod, how much memeory or whatever will this take up? if it will be alot, I'll only downlaod the ones I want most, namely Valis and Splatterhouse. | |

| The Genesis versions of Valis III is similar to th original for TurboGrafx... except the music and the cutscenes (no audio for voices and the music is... much 16-bit style) and the Valis 1 version is good, but the PC-Engine is much better. Anyway, Valis 2 is know as Syd of Valis (US) or SD Valis (JAP) mean Valis IV isn't relased for Genesis, the original one was released in PC-Engine (only Japanese version) and a "port" for Super Nintendo (Super Valis IV/Super Valis Akai Tsuki no Otome) You can download safely many roms of many systems at http://planetemu.net only you must clse some pop ups when they appears (don't worry, they're only hotels vacation publicity) | |

| Wai! You use PlanetEmu too?
Oh, Splatterhouse? You could get the Arcade version on Planetemu, but you'll have to get the MAME emulator (found on the same site). The site's in french, but just as long as you can remember that Telecharger=Download, you'll be fine.
And when getting the Splatterhouse I rom, make sure you get the biggest size rom (usually this is the "parent" rom required to run the game) or you'll get an error. Also, when getting the rom, put the rom (zip folder) in the ROM folder of the Mame directory, or Mame won't read it.
Also, I think the little dood game you're referring to is "Lode Runner." I may be wrong, but you also might be able to find the Arcade rom as well.

| Yeah, I've never heard of Lode Runner, I don't think that's it. It was for the TG16, it was a a card-chip game, not CD, and, I'm not sure, but I think it had maze in the title. But I 'll know soon. My cousin is giving me the TG16. After he moved from his "apartment" with his dad he couldn't get it to work on the new TV, so he's pretty sure the reason it wont work is he didn't set it up properly. As stated brfore, I belive, he does not remember ever having Valis II, or, as I had to describe it to him, "the CD game where you were this Sailormoon-ish girl (we never got past lv1, and in lv.1 she did not wear her Valis armor, she wore her skool clothes.) with long blue hair who on the cover wore skimpy gold clothes and in the game she fought robot-things and the whole game was in Japanese?". Well, if he is right and for some odd reason that is the only game of the many he has lost, my 2nd favorite of the games, that is odd, it seems it is always something you like that gets lost....Funny, he says he doesn't hae that game or any of the game cases, but he still has that ancient red shoebox that the games were kept in. Oh, the IRONY! | |

| Well, the Valis II game on the site is a windows program, so you can play the game on your computer. As for the cd add-on... I'm not a hardware specialist, but you may be able to find put what's wrong with your system by looking up turbografix cd issues online. If all else fails, maybe you can find a new cd add on on some website. | |

| Just play it through emulation. Even if you can find a console, the original games are really hard to find, and without games of course it's useless. There are a lot of pirated copies, sure, some even look very legit, but they tend to be made from encoded sound tracks (mp3,ogg,etc). I wouldn't buy one of these ripoffs. And if you buy them online, you usually can't return them once you find out. | |

| Try e-bay and don't forget to snatch up the PC-E games as well. Best bet is to buy the games, make copies of the manuals and games, store them and then use an emulator to play them. | |

| (GASP! TURBOYUKO IS STILL ALIVE!!!) Problem...I have searched both Ebay and Amazon and I can't find the TurboGrafx CD player. I did see it, but it was with the system, 17 games, a carrying case, all the manuals, all the setup connector wires and was US$200 and was not a buy it now item. I suck at bidding. Do any of you know where I could find one? And do copies of game work? And I really don't want to use an emulator, my mom would probably not let me, afraid of potential viruses, the game and emulator files taking up too much space...*sigh* And why is Valis II so expensive? The others aren't. | |

Wait, Valis II for TG-16CD is expensive? I know I purchased them around for $20 and even if I liked the music, the dubbing... brings nightmares Now, for the TG-CD player, don't buy one because it isn't worth the price because you can always d/l an emulator and pay a very small fee to unlock it. Copies of the game do work, I belive you need a program called Alcohol 120% or 150%, not sure which one it is since I havn't used it lately, to rip a copy from a Valis CD disc. If your mom won't let you play it, find a friend, ask him to d/l it for you and have fun. Otherwise dude, looks like you are SOL.

| Sorry for not being here hardly at all... The game wasn't expensive if you're looking at the right sellers on Ebay. Some sell it for $40, others for $12...And my TG16, because I unplugged the controllers, isn't working at the moment. I don't think theres anything wrong with the system, just the wirings of the controllers and all that. My mom says she might let me download and emulator after she talks to her friend who is a computer wiz and see how much memory it takes and stuff. I cannot find the CD-thing (what do you call it anyway?) that is seperate from the system on ebay. Eveyone is selling them with the system...And for prices from $300 to over $2000! Of course, the Buy It Now items are so much cheaper...like $45 sometimes, but I doubt I could win...I mean, I could try, but mom doesn't like messing with ebay much, since she'd be the one doing the bidding. Everythings too expensive on ebay. that, or everything I like is expensive...Does anyone know if theres a place I can get the CD-thing for under $60? And a question...The TG CDs can play on CD players, and you can hear sort of like the soundrack of the game, but it tells you not to do that or it could mess up your audio output or something. Can someone tell me if it is unwise to play them on CD players (The music Of Ys is just so awesome...) like if it really can mess up stuff? | |
