That would be Maria, from Psycho Dream. Although I need to figure out why my sound was bugging out when playing it on ZSNES...

::Nods:: Yes, that is is Maria.
I've actually got that from a scan of a picture on a page from the Psycho Dream manual that Telenet had posted on their Game Studio website. Psycho Dream's basically one of my favorite Telenet games.

Lovely as she is, especially as the butterfly! (Until you take one too many whacks to the head and end up losing that elegant form, only to see yourself going Belmont-style all over again -_-')
This makes me wanna figure out the glitched sound issue with ZSNES now and do it again (except, this time, use guns instead!)

I love her butterfly form! In fact I love it so much I made a code that lets you keep it once you get it. (Even though I don't like cheating that much...)

Never heard of it, nice find. There's something seriously creepy about this game, so I like it.
Here's another snes emulator if you haven't heard of it. http://byuu.cinnamonpirate.com/bsnes/ more accurate, far more accurate sound so it may help sound problems, although it runs less games.

It's slow, that's the problem with that emulator. You need a very fast system to run it full speed or it runs slow and with bugs. If you don't have that, don't bother, it will run badly. But the sound is more accurate for what it runs, but like I said, it emulates less games.
If you don't believe me try this test, run the game Mario Allstars, then go into SMB1 and start throwing fireballs at the edge of the screen really fast. Also listen to when you break some bricks, it will sound strange on zsnes or snes9x, the sound will cut off a lot, that is inaccurate, you will miss a lot of sfx in games this way. On bsnes if it's running full speed that won't happen.

So far, with very slight sound crackling, my snes9x plays the game beautifully. Even with Valna's ZSNES used for co-ops, snes9x emulates Psycho Dream nicely. Hm... I should probably do a LP on this game, myself, while I'm still in a rut with my Dragon Quest 3 Remake LP. Yay to having only three videos without commentary! xD

Can't embed it since it has annotations, and annotations don't carry over.

Only downfall is you have to view it from the source for the annotations. The annotations don't appear in embedded videos.

WOW! Never heard of this game! I love the butterfly form... it reminds me of Luise Meyrink, one of the newer SNK King of Fighters characters.
I think she is absolutely gorgeous!

Ok... almost done with the game. Just have to down this piece of crap of a final boss. Looks like Maria's pirouette attack won't be an option since I'm still trying to beat it and apparently the unpredictable hand lasers register faster than her spin slash does. >_<
Talk about upping the difficulty curve from easy to ludicrous. lol Also, Tracks 4 through 6 are skipped suddenly due to a video malfunction. To sum it up: get butterfly form, avoid the baddies, and let her winged fury be known throughout the parasite-infested land!

Ok, it is done!
Unfortunately, I couldn't finish my statements at the credits, so I'll finish them here.
The game just didn't seem complete at all. The manual probably explained the story very well, which would've eliminated some of the need for cutscenes or even a brief moment of text to grace us other than the Track Complete thing, but it just felt like it was a hail of parasites that took some girl captive and it was up to Ryo and Maria to save her. Bosses weren't complex (although the final one was simply cheap with odd programming), music definitely didn't fit the atmosphere, and the way powerups were done basically was a this-or-that. You rarely had a crystal heal you or up the F.AT. meter outside of the Final form, so it was either evolve or pray you don't drop dead before you do. They did a good job on the Final form, though, by making it something you could lose for being careless.
The story, from a visual perspective, didn't seem to spell anything other than fight your way through parasites to save a girl that steps away for a second, then turns around and gives a big hug. Then there was the ball of light thing at the end.
They did put a lot of detail in the visuals, though, which is always a plus. Maria, Ryo, the levels, the parasites, everything was detailed nicely. The intricate detail level caused some slow-down at times, but was still a stunning masterpiece nonetheless.
So to conclude my statement on the game: it was short, with an odd difficulty curve, with not a lot of story development, and music that didn't seem to fit the overall atmosphere of Psycho Dream. However, it was visually appealing with the level of detail. Again, I won't say its bad, but I can't call it good either because it seemed like it wasn't quite complete. Of course, story outside of RPG games may be rather minimal, but even so a decent story can be expressed with some effort to immerse the players into the world of Psycho Dream.
Sorry if this bothers ya, Zalure and iannafei. Unfortunately, after playing through it, the game seems like it should've had more work done to it to balance the overall gameplay, fit a musical score that expressed the dangerous, intense atmosphere, and enrich the storyline so that it could pull the players into the game. It has potential, though, and with a little elbow grease it could be more than it is!
Did I enjoy it? Up to the final boss, yes. It was fast-paced and gave a good, nostalgic feeling of the Castlevania and Valis games! Why up to the final boss? Cheap as hell if you don't walk in as a Butterfly.

Yeah, that boss looks like a pain. Like you said in the video, "It looks easy". But i'm sure when your playing it's tough to judge where the lazers are gonna hit.
