| Someone I know wants to sign up for this message board, but for some reason cannot log-in because the person has yet to receive a confirmation e-mail stating the person is signed up. How can the person get a confirmation e-mail? Also, is it really necessary to have a website in order to sign up for this message board? If so, is there a way around it? Thanks in advance. | |

| once he/she fill up the form, the user receives a confirmation email with a link inside it to activate his/her account (confirmation email is necessary to stop bots from registering, and make sure it's a human being ). if your friend still can't activate his/her account, I think admins here can manually activate the account (not sure) I don't know why these forums-providers programmed "your website" input-field mandatory it should be optional! Anyway, typing anything for the website field, like www.google.com, solves the problem | |

| the verification email may be marked as spam, check in the junk folder as for the website field, iirc admins can set up the required fields in their control panel | |

as for the website field, iirc admins can set up the required fields in their control panel The person has told me that the confirmation e-mail hasn't even shown up in their Spam folder, let alone the in-box. The person tried to re-register under the name they wanted to register, but they get the message that "the name has been taken". Anyway, the username the person is trying to register is NaclynE. The person's e-mail is RysleenaH@aol.com . If possible, could the administrator send a confirmation so they can use the board? If not, what should the person do?

| I tried to active his/her account manually, but looks like it's not possible. If he/she received the activation link and it was placed in the junk, it will be deleted after few days since the day he/she registered. - Quote :

This means he's already registered with that name "NaclynE", but he didn't active his account. The only way I can think of right now is to create another account with different name. Also I suggest he/she gives another email address, and make sure to check the junk. In worst scenario, I can manually create an account with default/random values, activate it, then send him/her the username and password so that he can change everything of his/her account details
