| the virtual console is a in service of nintendo for his console system WII
emulating like MAME or another dedicade emulators (those are somehow created by nintendo themselfs) they bring up this titles to the NINTENDO WII online services. the cost of this games are WII points or cash that you can "buy" not really sure how you do this.. but.. anyway...
there is a large catalogue of titles coming from: NEOGEO, SNES, NES PC ENGINE, GENESIS (MEGADRIVE) and some arcade
so, sunsoft has told that various titles from telenet japan could make it to the virtual console. that's all this can be too, not only emulated versions of already emulated games of VALIS. but to remakes and secuels of those games

| Well that's interesting news---I only hope this means I don't have to buy a Wii or DS . If Valis does make a come back I would like to see it for Wii, DS, PS3 (as a DLC) or PSP (either UMD disk or DLC) still cool to hear | |

I also remember Waku Waku 7 and it's spiritual predecessor, Galaxy Fight! But, yeah, I'd buy Valis or Earnest Evans/El Viento in a heartbeat if they ever became available for VC or XBLA.

| Time to bring this thread back to life with good news
For anybody who doesn't know, Sunsoft has just released the PC Engine version of Valis on the Japanese PlayStation Store for 800 yen.
So get a PS3 or PSP (if you don't have one), open a Japanese PSN account, buy a 1,000 yen PSN card from play-asia.com or some other site that sells them and enjoy.

| It's good to see Sunsoft's finally moving in regards to its Telnet acquisition, but now it's the point of truth. Will it localize these previously unreleased titles in the states? If so, how will the localization fare? Will it fall flat like the English voice acting in V2/3? | |

Well with a better choice in voice acting now if Sunsoft does rerelease or make a new Valis game, we might have better voice acting. I think voice seemed to work for me, I don't why but his voice seemed to fit him...but that's just me.

| subtitles would be fine with me really. No need for them to expend more money for voice acting (and thus pushing back the US release to like a year from now)
At least for Valis PCE all I really want is subtitles

| I like the concept of being able to play the Valis games on my PSP, but I'd prefer it to be a disk collection rather than a download. Like this game I got for my Birthday last month. I've grew up with these games on the Genesis, so it's nice I have them all to my name now for once. But still, a game collection that operates like this would be totally awesome. And it would also be awesome if they had a 2D.5D version of some of the games. Hey, if they can have the 2D.5D remake of Dracula X Rondo of Blood, and the original, AND Symphony of the Night all in one disk, why not? It'd be awesome to see Yuko in 3D, and the ability to change costumes more freely.(No nudes of course.) |

| Hmmm. Never really thought of subtitles, but that might be a decent shortcut if dubs are out of the question. | |

At least for Valis PCE all I really want is subtitles I wouldn't mind subtitles in Valis IV, Valis I for PCE there's a couple scenes that I would like to know what they're saying but I have a general idea what they're saying during the cutscenes that are simular to the Sega Genesis version.

I REALLY don't think they would put nudes in a game like Valis1, they're not that stupid. Although I wouldn't be surprised to see more fanservice, which actually just gets corny after a certain point. But anyway, this is what I'm thinking, too. I have a PS3, but I don't really want to pay for something they pulled out of the recycling from twenty years ago. If it was a remake, a translation, or an expanded version, maybe even a disk-based collection, I would buy it right away. But a straight port could probably be done by fans if they had the means! They are not even working here! Why reward Sunsoft for doing nothing? I would totally play a 2.5D remake of Valis1 (even though HD-friendly 2D graphics are nicer IMO if done right, witness KOF XIII). A subtitled version would be worth the money of course. But as for straight ports of ancient games, just release the source code and move on (Oh right, this is the videogame indu$try.)

I think Valis (either a new game or remake) would do much better on handheld games systems like the DSi or PSP.
