| Wow...the Valis IV cut scenes... See, what makes them more amazing than they are is just the sheer fact that those cut scenes were for a game that came out in 1991. Crap, now I want a Turbografix-16/PC Engine more than I did a few months back. | |

| I was never a huge fan of the cinematics in these games. They simply weren't animated enough. I'd like to see each of these games revisited and completely redone, though. There's only one other game outside of this series that I'd like to see redone with better cinematics, actually. I'd love to see Phantasy Star II redone with full FMV sequences, as well. | |

| Well no disrespect to the Cinematics and the Sotry of Valis... the voices and Dailouge in places just didn't give the omph I felt when I imagined the character voices in my head.. plus the Dialouge itself was just... a word I will refrain from using for fear of being beated to death with wet fish.
But in Any case this is a helluva find Reiko, thanks for ointing us in their direction.

the same reason that made me love the game almost all games at those times were not supported but cinematics, except for very very few games. maybe as a game, it's not really a good game, but, I loved Valis for it's cinematics and the story-outline. - kevinski wrote:

that's absolutely true! the english versions are really terrible, compared to the japanese. if you can notice the voices in the english version of Valis 3, there were not so many audio actors & actresses. I'm not sure of this, but I think as I hear it, all the ladies' voices in Valis 3 (Yuko, Valna, Cham, and even Leigh) were done by one lady, trying to change her voice from time to time. specially Rogles's voice, it's terrible. It's like someone trying to talk while his nose is closed for the japanese versions, like Valis 4, the actors and actresses are trying to play the role more than just acting or reading the scripts

That isn't an excuse. It's not as though good voice actors/actresses are completely unattainable at reasonable costs. I mean, Lani Minella is freaking incredible, and she was used in Illbleed for Dreamcast, which wasn't exactly a big-budget title from what I can recall. God, she'd be excellent in a Valis game. Her range of voices is insane.
