I always feel like the perspective attempts end up going sideways.
well, proportions are quite a pain, If I must say.. quite while back, I've never used structure and my draws were a complete shit.. (sorry my french) so when I started to rethink my style, a handfull bunch of friends told me that I should use structure to make the body.. andrew loomis was a very good guide, I recommend it.. and well, turn those proportions in manga was hardsome, but here they are hope that you like them never give up in drawing, betaflex1, this branch of drawing is endless and you can inprove forever, but you have to want to... that's what I think. - evilReiko wrote:

and ... I will leave it for Soldier well, taking the concepts of from the old games, well, they were too old..to early 90's ... like DIRTY PAIR , don't take me wrong!! I love that art.. one of my favorites manga artist is KENICHI SONODA and BUBBLEGUM OVA SERIES where my top anime then.. so... I've just revamped her to make her more... actual? you know.. I've tried to made her spunkier like in the ingame cinemas in that valis game.. so... again... I'm glad that you like about kenshin.. well, talking about the actitude... ah...! can't spoil that but the thing is that he is over the average teen... I wanted to make a more phisical character, even with the armor, you can see that he got a worked body... and well, to carry such sword, you need that body.. Rena, rena rena... she turned pretty simple if I can say.. I have quite a headache making her... so in final results, I've just put her in a standar pose holding (an invisible) Sword of Valis hope too that Soldier like her greetings and thanks to all

I took a brief shot at your method of shaping the body, using the balls as anchor points to make a form, and it worked out quite nicely! Too bad I ended up ditching the small paper I tested it on because I did it at work and too many annoying customers broke the flow of the art. -_- Nonetheless, I think I found a new way to create different forms now. Thanks!

| I certainly think the armor is pretty neat! It is certainly waaaay better than what I can ever do. I swear, Kenshin's outfit sort of reminds me of the armors that the male characters wear in their transformed state in Hiryu no Ken 2 and onward. Was that the inspiration? Or at least one of the "armored sentai" shows like Saint Seiya/Knights of the Zodiac? Just curious. | |

| Wow! A Valis fighting game. This is looking really good. Both Keisuke Nonohara and Shadow blade; You are putting a ton of effort into this and it shows! The music is good and the artwork and coloring is top notch! I also love the select screen with the characters arranged in a hexegon. I hope this select screen makes the final cut. I can't wait until the final release | |

oh, BTW, I love how Kenshin came out, so great! but, isn't he suppose to be a good guy? why he has that evil smug on his face? IMO, that smug is turning him to evil.. somehow for Rena, well, I always though that she was in some way more mature than Amu. so to make a character contrast, Rena is much serious and mature than Amu but she's quite reckless in the task of Valis Soldier than Yuko that's a characteristic that we gonna use, most likely in the representation of the stand of both characters: Yuko and Rena. 'cuz they both are now Valis Senshi (at least Yuko makes a quick comeback in that form) they share similarities in the stand and some basic moves but the final overall, they are quite diferentes.. Yuko is Left Handed (when facing right) and Rena is Right handed and about Kenshin Kenshin is not evil. he is quite arrogant, but not evil at all let's take some Ken masters and Kyo Kusanagi and and mixing some post-teen actitud that you totally rock anything in front of you the character was portraited in a way as a confident character like those two that I've mentioned... - iannafei wrote:

Just curious. a lot of places are inspiration for the armor that Kenshin is wearing for this game...I could say that..yes.. this could be some kind of saint seiya style ..but...hoho... the true is that I have a chinese friend...a great artist that he is in love of medieval and tecnological stuff.. and he lent me some desings to make me the things easier.. he's currently helping me to make some other things related to the project but well, since he's in china and me in argentina, the time distance make the things hard to both of us to be at the same time. thanks for the comment. this things make us (and me more and more) to keep it up for the making of this game - Silence the Fallen wrote:

I can't wait until the final release bounce well thanks to you for the encouraging the first time Shadowblade contacted me 'bout the making of this title, he only asked me to make the artwork them I suggested that it could be really cool if the game had full original sprites rather than pixel edited from another games, mostly CvS I recall and then..well, I was making designs and checking the HOW-TO-SPRITE stuff... and here we are.. hoping to make something that could really be enjoyable by a lot of people I'm really fond of making this game and I'm putting some quite effort to make it good for all of you and yes...seems this game is gonna be quite heavy... animations, music, opening and endings....holy cow... the final concept of the game targets like 300 or 350 o even...400 (I should say...500 to make it all ) mb for a simple 6 + 1 characters fighting game.. hoho.... some quite spoiler I've made for a non-complete game yet well, that's all for today... I wanna denote that Shadowblade showed me a link of a japanese Valis Forum or BBS I recall it was... anyway. seems that the news about the making of the game is reaching there.. let's hope for their support too byes for now...

Well, Kenji wouldn't exactly the first male hero of the Valis series. That is, if you count Asufal/Asufar (true, he wasn't in the SNES version of Valis IV, but was in the PCE version). Anyway, good job with the art so far, Shadow Blade! I especially like how Kenji's armor looks a lot like a masculine version of Yuko's Valis 3 armor.

| I think Kenji would be the second Human Male Fantasm Soldier. If ya recall in the PCE version to Valis 3, there was a cutscene about the history of the swords, displaying a female and male (barbarian-esque in a way) with both Valis and Lethus (Leethus? Lethis?). The female had Valis, while the male had Lethus. | |
