I can't believe this!! at those old times, when Capcom, Konami, Taito, Hudson, etc. were new, telenet was top on them! I mean, look at those videogames commercials, Valis commercial was super superior to them (even better than Capcom's commercials!!)

at those old times, if anyone would have told me about the future that telenet would close it's door while the other companies will be better, I would told him that he's so stupid. I mean, really, can anyone believe that the best company in the 80s would have closed its business in the future??!

The Godzilla-Valis crossover might've been an interesting idea, but the lack of video quality and the complete and utter chaos was a bit overwhelming. I see what they did thar. And it doesn't please the great King of Dark World. >=[

On the commercials, as everyone here knows, Telenet was one of the first companies to take great advantage of combining anime with video games. It was a great move, which put them on top in the 80s. They simply didn't produce quality-playing games like the other companies did and as a result, started to lag behind. As other companies started to step foot into Telenet's realm of anime video gaming, Telenet didn't push the quality of their games and thus they continued to fall behind until they got into the rut they were in in the late 90s. Anime-based games have continued to climb in both popularity and quality, so it's sad to see that a lot of Telenet's old franchises will simply die out in the public eye until fans somehow bring it to the proper spotlight.

Valis isn't really dead anymore, at least in Japan. They may have brought it back under a hentai genre, but it's still out there. Perhaps in the wrong sense, but it's out there. We now need to change the face back to what it was and make it presentable to the US. That's our job as fans.

I'd like to see franchises like El Viento/Earnest Evans, Exile, and Cosmic Fantasy make totally new appearances in today's gaming world. Exile was amazing, save for the last game which they put together for money, just like Valis 3 & 4. Everyone here knows El Viento and Earnest Evans as well as Cosmic Fantasy. HOPEFULLY with CoSIII coming out with Time Gal's Reika Kirishima, we can make a HUGE shout out to the gaming community and raise awareness of other Wolfteam/Riot characters and garnish support for these old franchises that deserve some attention.

I'd wonder how Valis would've turned out if it evolved like other franchises and was still around (except not as a hentai)...

Castlevania turned into a 3D and explorable franchise that continually pumps out more SotN mirror images.
Mario and Sonic... let us not go there. It's hard to keep up with those two that their side stories make Wolverine want to do more solo adventures.
Metal Gear keeps pushing envelopes on realism.
Mega Man's gone somewhere. I know it's somewhere because of Star Force, but in the context of wanting to touch it... I don't know.

It would be interesting to see which direction Valis would've turned to if Telenet decided to build upon Valis and not make clones of Valis as sequels and improved their tech to be usable for other systems. Of course, desperation led to getting side stories of our favorite Valis women [insert Hentai references here], but we can still dream.
